11th November 2006
Windsurfing: Cooden Wind Direction: W - WNW Wind Stength: 15-25 knots approx Surf / Sea State: flat with some swell Air Temperature: chilly with a little Sea Temperature: fine Weather: bright Max Speed: 24.6 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered:
Dentist visit first thing ... finishing off the root canal treatment, but
surprisingly painless and no need for face altering injections.
Escaped and bolted for Cooden. Arrived 11ish to find it a desolate spot
with just some fella out on a kayak. Checked the windspeed and was getting
13-18 knots on the windy at waters edge, which was a bit sheltered as wind
was cross-crossoff.
Rigged 7.0m & Manta 75 (just in case it went proper offshore NW) and went
out as the others rocked up and rigged up. Good blast though at times
pretty well powered up. Had a bit of a wipe-out that can be claimed as part
of forward loop training and ended up further underwater than experienced
before from such acrobatics
Opted to change down ... 5.6m Remedy & 3S 97 ... couple runs on that while
more new arrivals rigged up and then it all went just like that.
A session spoiled by just one thing ... not the big crash, not the wind
dying when it did .... but by the fact that I wore a pair of boots for the
first time in ages
Good luck to those who can sneak out in the week .. hope it comes through
for you, though if it comes really late ... say next saturday & sunday,
I\\\'ll not be offering any complaints
